Happy birthday Bilbo! I've been celebrating by watching the Bakshi animated film (finally). It's...weird. And bad. And will someone please tell me who "Aruman" is???

Meanwhile, coughing.

Also, ogling this: Caylus Premium Limited Edition. I remember [info]techi_pet showing me before. I have three days to try to win it via this contest.

Last night, played Ticket to Ride: Märklin with a PA friend and wife. Unfortunately, I ended up scoring 235 to their 121/123 with some luck in synergistic long routes. Managed to achieve almost complete efficiency/optimaization, though, in that my turn was the last turn of the game, and after it, I had no uncompleted tickets, no train cards in hand, no passenger cards in hand, no passengers left and no trains left.

Last Saturday's wedding went well, though it was weird seeing so many people from work outside of work. Everyone was surprised to hear me cantor and play, and I think the bride and groom really enjoyed it. In return, the reception was amazing. Out in White Rock on the bride's family's farm, with fresh organic produce picked from the farm that day, prepared by chefs from Aurora and Bishop's. The beet salad with pear and the potato salad with apple and walnut and the bison and the chocolates done by Chocolate Arts were amazing. I was so full by the end of it.

Yesterday, I built a $30,000 cheese display using 20 wheels of parmigiano reggiano.

aw, my hubs loves that movie. Something about childhood memories. The "down down to goblin town" song is his favorite example of way low basses singing notes he can't hit.

I loved the animated LOTR, mainly because of it's imperfections.

I think you should get Caylus. I wish to play it.

A wheel of parmigiano reggiano cost $1,500? Dang!!!
